New Collegiate Essay Competition Announced
New York Archives magazine recently announced its first annual essay competition to promote and recognize excellence in collegiate student research. The purpose of the competition is to encourage undergraduate and graduate students to explore the wealth of resources held in archival repositories across New York State.

Winning essays will be published in New York Archives , which highlights New York State history based on research using primary sources and is designed to appeal to a general audience with an interest in history of the Empire State. In addition to publication, winners will receive a cash prize and a year long subscription to the magazine. Submission deadline is July 1, 2020 . For more information, click here .

A significant index to NYS Supreme Court judgment rolls and some Court of Chancery documents are now available via New York . This service provides online access to family history records held by the New York State Archives, New York State Library, New York Military Museum, and a few other New York repositories.
