Bath Community Fund is adjusting our funding priorities and guidelines to rapidly respond to community needs in the face of the COVID-19 pandemic. Learn how we are providing flexible support to nonprofit organizations serving the Bath/Revere community during this crisis and what you can do to help.
Akron Community Foundation recently launched the Community Response Fund for Nonprofits to help agencies that are on the front lines of supporting individuals impacted by the coronavirus. The fund is distributing grants to meet the needs of residents in Summit and Medina counties, including those in the Bath community.
A recent grant from Bath Community Fund will support the new Bird Blitz program at the Bath Nature Preserve. This self-guided activity encourages students and families to discover the many species of birds that call Bath home. The program is scheduled to begin this summer, and participants can earn prizes for spotting the featured birds.
Students at Bath Elementary School are showing off their sparkly new smiles thanks to a grant from Bath Community Fund. Last year, the fund supported an oral health education program to teach third graders how to properly brush and floss their teeth. The new Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act that was signed into law in March provides an opportunity for those who can no longer itemize their tax deductions to receive a one-time deduction of up to $300 for cash contributions to public charities. It also increases the deduction limit for cash gifts to 100% of a donor's AGI and allows businesses to deduct contributions of up to 25% of their taxable income in 2020.
