ILM Academy banner gala
All of our students are diligently preparing for their performances at the annual fundraising gala. As a part of their prep, we ask that you please assist them with following the costume and dress code requirements, depending upon their role or class. The program will include a song performance by ECC and Montessori students, an Arabic play production by 1st-3rd graders, and a spoken word presentation by 4th-5th graders. The middle school students will be in charge of emceeing the event.

ECC and Montessori costume:
  • ECC students should wear everyday clothes, as they would to attend school and bring a teddy bear to hold.
  • Montessori level 1 students must dress in their everyday clothes. No props.
  • Montessori level 2 students must dress as adults (parents), such as wearing formal clothes like polos or long sleeve shirts and dresses. They may wear props on them such as fake glasses but may not hold anything.
  • Montessori level 3 students must dress as elders (grandparents), such as with wigs for gray hair, white powdered hair, fake glasses, formal clothing, etc. Even cultural dresses which elders in a specific culture may wear are allowed, such as thobes, abayas, or shalwaar-kameez. No props are allowed to be held.

1st, 2nd, and 3rd grade costume:

  • Please click on this costume list to find your child's name (listed in alpha order by first name) and have your child dress as listed in the "Costume" column.
  • Please also click on this script to see which lines, if any, your child needs to have memorized to successfully perform the play. (If your child has a speaking part, he/she was given a copy of the script to take home prior to winter break.) Please note that all lines have been translated into Arabic as that is how they will be said in the play, except for the narrator lines. Narrator lines will be said in English only.
4th and 5th grade dress:
  • They must dress in dark jeans with a long sleeve button down solid white shirt.
  • All students must also turn in $5 with which we will purchase matching eggplant scarves and fake eyeglasses. The students will be allowed to keep the scarves and eyeglasses after the fundraiser.
Middle school dress:
  • Middle school students must dress in formal black and white clothing as they will be emceeing the entire evening.
  • Boys are recommended to dress in formal slacks, dress shirt, and tie. A jacket is a plus.
