Backpacks and blankets provide comfort

Recently Jessica Rudolph participated in a podcast, Fostering Change, with the founder of Comfort Cases, Rob Scheer. We don’t have a definite air date, but when we have one, we’ll let you know!

Comfort Cases, one of our non-profit partners, puts our blankets in the hands of children entering the foster care system.

A handmade blanket, and other comfort and personal care items, are included in each of the backpacks they provide for these youth, who often have to carry their belongings in trash bags.

Your blankets help make these backpacks something comforting that the kids can keep with them.
New Heavenly Blanket Angel

Longtime Blanket Angel, Betty Smith, became a Heavenly Blanket Angel in July.

She and her husband Forrest were MVOB supporters for many years, and we will miss them.

Enjoy this conversation from our archives between Jessica, Betty and Forrest.
Kids give back to kids

Blankets for 120 children in foster care! High school and middle school students created them on two Impact Days sponsored by the Ohio Association of Student Leaders in July.

This was another “small” event that will have a big impact on the lives of children in foster care. Many thanks!

Woven story of resilience

Kimberly Rhyan, an alum of foster care, gives us some insight into her “journey of overcoming” a number of obstacles in her life and the support she has received along the way.

She is an educator, visual artist and writer and foster care advocate. Read her story here.
Do you advocate for children in foster care?
If you are a caseworker or advocate for children in foster care, we would love to provide blankets that you can share with kids who could use something to hold onto. Just tell us how many you need. 614-530-3327 or info@myveryownblanket.org

Blankets delivered in Kentucky. Members of Christ Lutheran Church in Jeffersontown KY made 32 blankets and delivered them to StepStone Youth and Family Services in Fern Creek KY. Thanks to this group of youth and adult Blanket Angels!
Goal Achieved with 300 Blankets! Kathy, a dedicated MVOB volunteer, decided that in 2022 she wanted to contribute 1% of our 30,000 blankets goal. Kathy has achieved her goal. Congratulations and many thanks!
