Cats are Like Potato Chips, You Can’t Have Just One!

Winston (formerly Chaplin) was adopted from the Humane Society in 2018 and Jacques (formerly Mr. Wonderful) was adopted in August 2022. Jacques was a two-month-old kitten when he went home with his new family, and they tell us that he immediately made Winston more playful and energetic. Now they are best friends and find a lot of comfort in each other.

A Marathon Day of TNR Surgeries

On August 29 our rock star veterinary team offered a marathon day of spays and neuters of community cats to help caregivers prevent spring kittens. This fellow was one of the 73 patients who will no longer be contributing to the free-roaming cat population in Windsor and Essex County! We have a variety of programs to help with getting community cats spayed or neutered. Learn about some of them here:

A Life Well Lived

We lost a tireless advocate for animals on August 26 when Bob Barker passed away at the age of 99. His tagline “this is Bob Barker reminding you to help control the pet population - have your pets spayed or neutered” was many people's first introduction to the world of animal welfare. Rest in peace, Bob.
