Recent News
Health Careers Academy Kickoff
Recently, Yes Prep East End and Cesar Chavez High School accompanied us for the 2017-2018 Health Careers Academy (HCA) Kickoff event. More than 50 new high school students are looking forward to learning more about different health professions. Starting in November, UTHealth students will be mentoring each of the school's campuses to facilitate engaging health related workshops with 10th, 11th and 12th grade students.
Welcome Lunch
Dr. Pedro Mancias and his family graciously hosted the annual Welcome Lunch for new members and officers of Student National Medical Association (SNMA) and Latino Medical Student Association (LMSA). The ODI holds this annual event to foster collaboration and mentorship among the newest members of these organizations.
Faculty Mixer
Our annual Diversity Faculty Mixer, with special guest, Dean Barbara Stoll, was a huge success. Over 50 UTHealth faculty members mingled at Third Coast. Attendees were given an opportunity to engage with other faculty while sharing perspectives and advice on academic success.
