Felicia Pasculli, Esq. shares insights about how to start the difficult discussions with your parents about their long term care plans.
Felicia Pasculli shares information on how to approach your parents about their long term care planning.

This is not an easy topic to broach, but an extraordinarily important one. Without doing so, you may not know how to help them in the future. You can start by asking your parents where they'd like to live if they cannot care for themselves or whom do they want to assist them with bill-paying or doctors' appointments.

Explain that you have explored advance directives such as health care proxies or powers of attorney for yourself because age is inconsequential when it comes to potential crises.

Research legal information yourself about different Medicaid programs and probate avoidance so you can more naturally discuss these with your parents.
