FUTURE GENERATIONS

Legacy is not what I did for myself. It's what I'm doing for the next generation. -Vitor Belfort

Oftentimes it feels like there is such an exhausting never-ending battle for the future generation, but when we see glimpses of victory such as we've seen this past month, it is worth all of the prayer, fasting, teaching, planning, lost sleep, and stress. It's worth it all simply to see lives changed and transformed and young people surrendering their lives to God.

WINTER CAMP

God worked in such an incredible way at winter camp last month. Bonnie felt the Holy Spirit directing her and the team to focus on "The Next Step": How do we find our identity in Christ and overcome fear, anger, and bitterness? The team organized workshops on conquering fears and overcoming anger and student leaders gave testimonies to the campers on how God had helped them overcome in these areas of their lives.

It is interesting how, when we trust God enough and surrender our plans to his will, he does above and beyond what we could ever expect. We had a much smaller number of campers register than in previous years, so much so that we even considered canceling winter camp. But God directed us to continue in faith and did so much more during camp than we had expected. He knew that in the intimate atmosphere of the smaller numbers, campers would be more open to the topics we'd chosen because they were very personal. God was able to do a deep work in the hearts of several campers. One of our campers experienced healing from years of anger and bitterness and gave his testimony at church a few weeks back on how God has completely transformed his life since then.

Another of our campers was baptized in the Holy Spirit, and several of our other campers experienced breakthroughs from fear and anxiety. I believe that it is so important for us leaders to be surrendered to the plan of the Holy Spirit and sensitive to his leading. From that place of surrender, God can do so much more than we ever planned. Please pray that our youth continue moving forward and walking in the freedom they experienced at camp.

FURTHER INVESTMENTS

Trinity & BK Concert

Last week our church organized what we called "Youth Week". A group of students from Trinity Church in Dallas, TX came and assisted us in putting on several activities for youth.

We organized a concert in a popular venue downtown and what an awesome night we had! Our band "Bez kompromisa" and Trinity's Youth band played. Their students shared testimonies on how God had changed them and invited people to give their lives to Christ.

We also organized an evening of street evangelism which was so exciting. Evangelism is something that Bonnie has been trying to encourage the youth to do. Last year our youth wrote, designed and printed their own salvation tract. We had 200 of them printed and they were gone in about 45 min. What a joy it was to see some of the youth taking steps of courage to share their faith for the first time. We saw several young people standing around and reading the tracts and we believe that God's Word does not return void. Please be praying that those seeds that were sown to bear forth fruit.

Missions House

Another project that we are investing in and that we have not mentioned in a while is our missions house.

Those of you who have visited us in the past few years, know that we have a small unfinished house on our property, adjacent but completely detached from our home. For the past few years, Mario has had it in his heart to turn this space into a “Missions House” that could be used in several ways: as temporary housing for missionaries, guest speakers, or people needing a short-term housing solution (out-of-towners needing housing while family is in the hospital or those who have temporarily lost their job, etc.).

We know that God did not give us this extra building in vain and that we are to use it for the Kingdom of God. The first phase was completed last year and we were able to install sewage, water and electricity.

The second phase is to install windows, doors and fix the roof. The cost of this second phase is $18,000. Would you consider being a part of this project?
