It's Cookie Time!
Girl Scout cookies arrive this week!

With the start of the new year, comes the arrival of everyone's favorite cookies- the Girl Scout cookies! The program, which runs through March 3, gives our girls the opportunity to learn key life skills while becoming leaders and entrepreneurs throughout our communities.

This year, Girl Scouts Carolinas Peaks to Piedmont will also be selling a new cookie along with the classic flavors. The Caramel Chocolate Chip is a gluten-free cookie that features rich caramel, semisweet chocolate chips and a hint of sea salt. It will retail for $5 a box, while the other varieties remain at $4 per box.

Be sure to support your local Girl Scouts when you see them out at cookie booths! You can find a cookie booth near you by entering your zip code here or you can download the official Cookie Finder app to your phone!

An Inspiring 2018 for Girl Scouts

We hope you all enjoyed the holiday season and are getting into the swing of things as the new year rolls forward! Looking back at 2018, there were many positive, exciting and girl-led moments for our council. We are ready to continue building momentum into 2019 and look forward to bringing our mission to even more girls.

Below are some highlights from 2018 on the national Girl Scout level. We hope this inspires you to keep believing in the programming and the impact Girl Scouting has on girls and our communities nationwide.

  • More than 570,000 Girl Scouts explored the outdoors at a Girl Scout camp, with more than 170,000 girls attending a resident summer camp program.
  • More than one million girls participated in the 2018 Girl Scout Cookie Program, the largest girl-led entrepreneurial program in the world.
  • Outreach Girl Scout programming touched 450,000 under-served girls across the country.
  • 6,000 girls were given the honor to be called Gold Award Girl Scouts in 2018. These girls tackle society's greatest challenges with hours of dedicated service to organizations and populations who need it the most- all while still in high school!
  • Girl Scouts of the USA launched 30 brand-new badges in areas including cybersecurity, mechanical engineering, environmental stewardship, robotics and space science.
