Funded by the city's General Obligation Bond (G.O.B.) funding, the new park will become an example of the city's commitment to green space while serving as a model of sustainability, stewardship and resilience.
The 19.4-acre park will include environmental remediation as well as a central lake with boardwalk. The park design consist of open meadows and informal open field areas, along with site grading, a pavilion, six courts marked for both tennis and pickle ball, restrooms, children's playground, dog park, jogging trail and pathways. It will also include a Vita Course and fitness cluster, butterfly garden, linear water feature, parking lot, walkway lighting and security camera systems.
This park is designed with resilient component such as the central lake for stormwater retention, pervious pavement, motion censored walkway lighting among other resiliency enhancements. The scope also includes replacement of the large water and sewer lines traversing the park.
