G.O.B.: Bayshore Park (Former Par 3)
Project Update - December 3, 2021
What’s Happening
The former Par 3 Golf Course at 2795 Prairie Avenue is being developed into Bayshore Park, a planned passive park for the enjoyment of Miami Beach residents. The project is in the permitting phase with Miami-Dade County Environmental Resources Management (DERM) and the City of Miami Beach Building Department. Three permit applications are being processed by DERM. Final environmental remediation reports were approved by the DERM Environmental Division in July 2021 and coordination for the approval of the construction drawings continues. Simultaneously, a driveway permit and streetlight relocation permit have also been submitted to the Miami-Dade County Department of Transportation and Public Works.

In addition, the city is coordinating internally to adjust and upgrade various utility lines located within the park.

Following the approvals, the city will prepare bid documents and commence the bidding process to hire a contractor and begin construction.
Project Benefits
Funded by the city's General Obligation Bond funding, the  new park will become an example of the city's commitment to green space while serving as a model of sustainability, stewardship and resilience.

The 19.4 acre park will incorporate environmental remediation and a central lake. It will include open meadows and informal open field areas, site grading, a pavilion, six tennis courts with restroom facilities, a children’s playground, dog park, boardwalk and pathways. The park will include new security lighting, a vita course and fitness cluster, butterfly garden, linear water feature and parking lot. The park will contain many resiliency improvements, including a stormwater retention system and pervious pavement.
