G.O.B. Bayshore Park (Former Par 3)

Project Update: Thursday, June 1, 2023

What’s Happening

The former Par 3 Golf Course at 2795 Prairie Ave is being developed into Bayshore Park, a passive park for Miami Beach residents and visitors to enjoy.

The city will begin the Park construction by the end of Summer 2023. A groundbreaking ceremony and pre-construction meeting will be held before work commences. Event details will be provided in future community notices.

Soil Remediation Work

RES Florida Consulting (RES) is working with the City of Miami Beach to conduct a groundwater assessment in Bayshore Park.

What’s Happening

RES will install six groundwater monitoring wells in the right of way (ROW) near the park on W 28 Street between Meridian Avenue and Prairie Avenue. The wells will be installed using a small drilling rig and the holes will be properly filled/covered prior to leaving each location.

Please be aware that a work schedule will be made available in the near future.

What to Expect

  • Work at each location is expected to take approximately one hour.
  • A Maintenance of Traffic (MOT) will be setup while the work is being performed in order to safely block and redirect traffic.
  • RES employees and vehicles will be on-site during this time for the well installation.

Project Benefits

Funded by the city's General Obligation Bond (G.O.B.) funding, the new park will become an example of the city's commitment to green space while serving as a model of sustainability, stewardship and resilience.

The 19.4-acre park will include environmental remediation as well as a central lake. It will have open meadows and informal open field areas, along with site grading, a pavilion, six tennis courts with restrooms, a children's playground, dog park, boardwalk, and pathways. It will also include new security lighting, a vita course and fitness cluster, butterfly garden, linear water feature, and parking lot. This project will contain a stormwater retention system and pervious pavement, among other resiliency enhancements.
