G.O. Bond 23 Street Streetscape Improvements

Notice Date: Thursday, June 11, 2026

What's Happening?

The contractor for the 23 Street Streetscape project is currently performing concrete placement on 22 Street and will begin placing concrete at the northwest and southwest corners of Park Avenue and 22 Street in the coming weeks. Additional work will include ongoing paving activities and miscellaneous electrical tasks required to bring the traffic signals online.

Toward the end of June, following pavement installation, the contractor will install temporary pavement markings, complete remaining work items, and conduct general cleanup throughout the project limits.

Approved traffic‑management measures will be in place wherever travel lanes are reduced to ensure public safety and minimize disruptions. Please plan accordingly and use caution when traveling through the work areas.

Timeline

Construction hours are Monday-Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Residents and visitors should expect construction to be completed by early summer 2026.

Please know that this schedule may change due to weather and/or unforeseen circumstances.

Traffic Impacts

A detailed traffic plan, developed in accordance with FDOT standards, is implemented in each segment while work is ongoing. These plans will ensure the safe and efficient movement of vehicles and pedestrians throughout construction.

During the course of this work, no more than one lane will be closed at a time, on any given roadway, in order to minimize disruption to traffic flow and ensure continued accessibility. Work may be performed simultaneously in more than one segment.

What to Expect

  • Temporary work zones and lane closures may occur within the project area. Please follow detours and signage for alternative routes.
  • Pedestrian traffic may be temporarily rerouted during construction. Please be aware of detour signs for alternative pedestrian pathways.
  • Construction activities may generate noise from equipment and machinery. Every effort will be made to minimize any disruptions to the neighborhood.
