Back to school, back to work, back-to-back events ... the calendar pages have turned from Summer to Fall and we here @ the MACC are ready to plunge into
the many events in our 2018/19 Season. This is our collection of programs, specifically presented by the MACC as we continue our endeavors to bring the best of the world to Maui, and the best of Hawai'i to the world. In our season, there is a wide variety of events: music, dance, family shows, theatrical performances.... truly, something for everyone! We invite you to look over the selection: click here or on the brochure cover image down below.

We've actually already started the Season, kicking off with three of our big annual events: our gala Maui Calls fundraiser on August 18 ... the K ū Mai Ka Hula competition on September 8 ... and the Maui 'Ukulele Festival on September 30. See below for a photo recap of these events. Of course, the 'Uke Festival is always FREE; K ū Mai Ka Hula is value priced to make it accessible to all.... and support of our fundraising events like Maui Calls helps make it all possible!

After 24 years of operation, we have achieved several annual traditions here @ the MACC. Every year we have many signature events that the Maui community enjoys and looks forward to attending every year. (Visitors do, too.) That these annual events are so many and so varied lends testament to one of my statements above: the MACC truly has something for everyone. Take a look at the upcoming events through the brochure links below, and I know you'll agree.

So please "click" to find information about FREE events, and "click" to buy your tickets for any or many of the exciting shows to come this year. In either case, I look forward to seeing you soon...

13th annual FREE 'Ukulele Festival
Almost 3,000 people - residents and visitors - joined us for a FREE FUN FAMILY-FRIENDLY afternoon of Hawaiian music (sparked with a few other genres) in the annual 'Ukulele Festival on Sunday, September 30. The line-up was terrific - big names & newcomers, old hats and new keiki... even a new 'ad hoc' ukulele band: a performance by the people who had attended the free ukulele workshop the day before!
Starry Night Cinema - FREE!
Another FREE FUN FAMILY FRIENDLY event happened the same weekend: Friday night, September 28, when the MACC presented another signature event: Starry Night Cinema, featuring the animated movie "Early Man." Families poured into the amphitheater with buggies and wagons and blankets and pillows, settled into their nests, and enjoyed a free outdoor movie on our Big Screen.
Click to watch a video from a previous Starry Night - the kids sure do have a lot of fun!
Families arrive early to enjoy the music of up-and-coming local musicians ... to make a masterpiece at our keiki art activity table ... to cartwheel on the grassy lawn... and to stake out their prime real estate in front of the screen!
13th Annual K ū Mai Ka Hula
Hālau Hula from Maui, O'ahu, Las Vegas, and Japan took part in the annual competition presented by the MACC and Kauahea Inc., providing a long beautiful afternoon of the finest quality hula and Hawaiian music. See the winners and more on the KMKH facebook page .

Meeting our fundraising goals with events such as Maui Calls allows the MACC to continue our outstanding programs of live performances, inspiring visual arts, and arts-based education for Maui students.

On behalf of the board, administration, and staff of Maui Arts & Cultural Center, we express sincere gratitude to all of our table sponsors and event sponsors for their generosity and commitment to the MACC and our community.
