Here are some entries from this past week:
Mazel tov to Mark Schleifstein and his team on being named the winner of the 2020 Science in Society Journalism Award in the "Series" category, sponsored by the National Association of Science Writers!
Polluter’s Paradise,” a 14-part series published between October 30, 2019 and December 27, 2019 by the Times-Picayune and the Advocate in conjunction with ProPublica, is an exhaustive look at how emissions improve, only to worsen again, in “Cancer Alley,” the industrialized stretch of the Mississippi River between Baton Rouge and New Orleans.
The judges gave a special shout out to our own Mark Schleifstein, one of the winners, saying "he and colleagues did their first investigation of pollution in Cancer Alley nearly three decades ago, and they are still at it, vigorously.”
Mazel tov to Mara Force on being honored with the Herbert and Margo Garon Young Leadership Award.
On Rosh Hashanah day we welcomed
Levi Ronen Mizrahi
into the world!

Mazel tov to Annie Fischman Mizrahi & Dr. Jonathan Mizrahi,
Leslie & Nathan Fischman, and Fagey Fischman
on the birth of their son, grandson and great-grandson!

Welcome to the world, Levi!
