Parish Newsletter January 2019
Join Us For Our School Open House
The Guardian Angels School Open House is scheduled for  January 27th  from 1:00-3:00pm. This is a great opportunity to meet other GA families and teachers, talk with administrators and help us kick off Catholic Schools Week.  You can pre-register for our Open House online . It is not mandatory that this be done in advance, but it will speed up your entry on the day of our event.

You can help us spread the word about Open House by sharing our Facebook event . We will also have yard signs in the Gathering Space to be picked up after all Masses next weekend (January 12/13). The signs are a great way to advertise our Open House.

All are welcome to join the faculty and staff for the noon Mass on January 27th followed by an Art Show presented by grades kindergarten through fifth grade, our GA Expo and a guided tour by one of our junior high students.
Catholic Schools Week
The theme of Catholic Schools Week 2019 is HALO - Honest, Accountable and a Leader to Others. As a thriving Catholic school, we strive to provide the best educational instruction and religious formation for your family. Catholic Schools Week is a wonderful time to thank God for the many blessings He gives us as well as show our gratitude to you for choosing Guardian Angels and trusting us to enrich your children’s lives! We also thank the parish for supporting our school through your donations and prayers.

Please stop by the Religious Education table at the GA Open House. We will have information about Bible Camp, Camp Gaudeo, our youth ministry program, and the Vocation Awareness Ministry. We will also offer a free raffle of religious books for all ages!
Religious Education
The Christmas season is in full swing until the Baptism of the Lord on January 13. Check out the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops website . They have great Christmas resources including a daily calendar of Christmas readings and reflections.
Volunteer Training
If you are an adult wishing to volunteer with children, you must attend a VIRTUS child protection training class in the Archdiocese of Cincinnati and have an online background check submitted through their system. The next VIRTUS training session at Guardian Angels will be offered in the Undercroft on Tuesday, January 15th from 6:00-9:00pm. Anyone wishing to attend should first email [email protected] for a background check token, and then visit virtus.org to pre-register for this session. Registrations are locked 24 hours prior to the start of class, and no additional registrations or walk-in attendees will be accepted. No one under the age of 18 is permitted to attend and once the session begins, no one will be permitted to enter, per Archdiocesan policy.

News From Guardian Angels School
Come Learn More About Our School
We hold three types of events each year to introduce families to Guardian Angels School. All three offer a different insight so feel free to attend all of them, or choose the one that fits your needs.

Open House
As mentioned above, our Open House is scheduled for January 27th from 1:00-3:00pm. This is a great opportunity to meet other GA families and teachers, talk with administrators and help us kick off Catholic Schools Week.

Personal Tour
You are always welcome to call and schedule a personal tour of Guardian Angels School. You will meet with our administration to discuss the classes and programs available through GA and have the opportunity to ask any questions you may have. These are typically done during school hours so you can see what a typical day is like for students.
Call the school office at (513)624-3141 to schedule a tour.

Informational Coffee
Our Informational Coffee events provide parents an opportunity to see classes in session but also talk with other current GA parents about their experience here at Guardian Angels School. We hold one of these events in the Fall and one in the Spring. Our next coffee is scheduled for Tuesday, February 26th at 9:00am. If you'd like to attend this event, please RSVP to Tiffany Strah .
News From Our PTA
Teacher Cookie Exchange
The teachers and staff enjoyed a cookie exchange before the holiday break. The GA school families provided the treats for the teachers.

365 Lotto
The 365 Lotto was a great fundraiser for PTA and we thank you for supporting it. All Money raised is going toward professional development opportunities for our teachers.

BoxTops & Kroger Rewards
Please continue to save up your BoxTops and link your Kroger Reward Card to GA!

Teacher Wishlists
Finally, each fall the PTA asks the teachers to provide a list of things they “wish” could be in their classroom to help enrich their teaching. These are items that remain in the classrooms and are more “capital” items. Over the last few weeks, the PTA has been able to fulfill many of the teachers’ wishes. A few examples of items that the PTA has purchased are: classroom area rugs, document cameras, bookshelves, light tables, storage items, and many other teaching resources to enhance the students learning& teacher instruction. PTA is able to meet the needs of the students and teachers because of the amazing support we receive from our parents. Thank you!
