Message From Father Angi
The Eucharist stands as the central sacrament in the Catholic faith, embodying the profound mystery of Christ’s presence among believers. This weekend, we celebrate First Holy Communion for students at Guardian Angels at 10:30 on Saturday, and at Immaculate Heart of Mary at 3:00, 5:00, and 11:30, and next Saturday at 3:00. St. John Fisher celebrated their First Holy Communion last weekend. This event is a cause of great joy for all of us in the St. Gregory the Great Family of Parishes. We rejoice with these young ones and their families.
For children, receiving their First Holy Communion marks a pivotal moment in their spiritual journey. It is a sacramental milestone that signifies their initiation into the fullness of Christian life and community.
Through their participation in the Eucharist, children encounter Jesus in a tangible way, experiencing his love and presence in the simple elements of bread and wine. This encounter deepens their relationship with Christ and strengthens their connection to the wider Christian community. It instills in them a sense of belonging and identity as members of the body of Christ called to live out their faith in service to others. In receiving the body and blood of Christ, they are nourished and empowered to live as faithful witnesses to the gospel, spreading the message of love and redemption to all whom they encounter. The First Holy Communion is not just a one-time event but marks the beginning of a lifelong journey of faith and discipleship.
This momentous occasion has been preceded by a period of preparation, during which the children have learned about the significance of the Eucharist and its role in the life of the Church. We thank our St. Gregory the Great Catechists and the staff of Guardian Angels and Immaculate Heart of Mary schools who have journeyed with these young ones as they
prepare to encounter Christ in the Eucharist. We equally thank the parents of these children for fulfilling the promises they made at the baptism of their children to bring up in the practice of the faith. We thank them for their support and accompaniment. Congratulations to all our First Communicants!

Cookie Ministry
Thank you for your donations to the Cookie Ministry this year. The Peanut Butter group really appreciates your support. They minister to the needy at St. Francis Seraph Soup Kitchen all year, so your donations over the summer are much needed. They put together a lunch sack on Tuesday mornings, so your donations should be dropped off on Mondays. Your donation of cookies, brownies, rice krispie treats, etc. adds a sweet treat to the lunches our peanut butter group makes for the needy of the St. Francis Seraph Soup Kitchen.
Treats can be homemade or store-bought but should be individually packaged (2 cookies per bag). They are also in need of juice boxes or pouches and prepackaged snacks like chips, pretzels, cheez-its, etc.
If you would like to help put together the lunches or drive them down to St. Francis Seraph, contact Kathy Hosking at 513-232-0958. Thank you for your help!

Greeters and Gift Bearers for GA Liturgies
How can your family contribute to the success of our liturgies? We are need of individuals, couples and families to serve as greeters (stand at the Gathering Space doors and welcome Mass attendees to our parish) and gift bearers (bring up the bread, wine and collection basket at the Offertory Procession during Mass). We need volunteers for all 3 of our weekend Masses. Signing up in advance allows the ushers to know who is volunteering and not have to scramble to find a family to bring up the gifts.
Sign up here or see an usher when you get to Mass. Thank you for volunteering to serve in these important ministries!
