Parish Newsletter November 2025

Message From Father Angi

November is a month for remembering. Today we celebrate the Feast of All Souls. It is a day in which we have special prayers for loved ones, remembrance services, and blessing of graves.

When we bring to mind someone or something; we draw on our memories. But, of course, because we’re human beings, what we remember with our minds evokes feeling in our hearts and in our bodies.

Memories fill us with joy, sadness, sorrow and regret. We have the ultimate act of remembrance when we celebrate Mass and remember Jesus’ mission passed on to us, as well as a desire to gift his disciples some way of keeping his memory alive when he was gone.

When we feel lost and broken because we have lost someone dear to us, the presence of Jesus offers us comfort, consolation, and light in our darkness. This weekend in our St. Gregory the Great Family of Parishes, we remember all those who have died and were buried from our family over the past year. As we pray for the dead, we share the light of hope to their loved ones. When someone is in a dark place, the warmth of a smile or a kind word can mean a lot. It may feel that our own light is very small and insignificant in times of much darkness, but each time it is shared, it is not halved but doubled. Together,

we really can make a difference in the lives of those around us.

For those who have gone on to eternal life over the past year, may the Angels lead you into paradise, and may the martyrs come to welcome you to your new and eternal home in heaven.

Join Us in Funding Future Angels This Giving Tuesday

Guardian Angels is Family. We, as parishioners of Guardian Angels Parish, grow together through the community that is unique only to GA. This community is deeply committed to growing our legacy through the next generation of Catholics devoted to living their faith. One way we do this is through our parish’s largest ministry, Guardian Angels School.

Our school has provided our Angels a magnificent place to grow for more than 120 years. Students leave our school with a strong Catholic core and are ready to compete with the top learners in a competitive academic world. Every year, we strive to provide a top-notch education for all of our families.

Guardian Angels is committed to providing a safe and secure environment for our students to flourish. We are determined to continue Funding Future Angels. Our plan to accomplish this in the coming years include updating our auxiliary services spaces and making safety enhancements and improvements to our school campus and facilities through purchasing additional security cameras and replacing the doors in the Pit.

We are asking for your help to make these projects happen. This will be our school’s single largest fundraiser for the year.

Consider supporting Guardian Angels School on Giving Tuesday!

Giving Tuesday is the week after Thanksgiving; it’s a movement to encourage people to give back to their own community. This year, we hope you give back to our Guardian Angels community as we participate in this Giving Tuesday Campaign on December 2nd.

Be on the lookout for an email on December 2nd with a specific link to donate to this one-day fundraising campaign. Donations made on December 2nd, through our online platform, will not be assessed by the Archdiocese, meaning your entire donation stays with Guardian Angels. Offline donations (cash or checks) or donations made on a different day are not included in this assessment waiver.

Great news for anyone who pays Ohio income tax and supports Guardian Angels

We have many students at Guardian Angels who benefit from scholarships provided by the Catholic Education Foundation (CEF). Ohio taxpayers who donate to the CEF may be able to claim a dollar-for-dollar, non-refundable tax credit on their state income tax return, up to $750 per donor. For more information, click here.

We hope you consider a donation before the end of the year and choose "Guardian Angels School (Cincinnati)(C00160)" from the drop-down when prompted.

Parishioner and tax expert, Brien Dulle, is donating. Here's what he had to say. "Supporting the CEF is a no-brainer for me for two reasons. As a graduate of GA that is also sending my daughters to the school, I want to invest in the education that our children receive. Secondly, there's no extra money out of pocket since I can claim a dollar-for-dollar Ohio tax credit."

Baby Shower in a Bag Project - A Great Success Thanks to YOU!

Many thanks to all the parishioners of SGG Family of Parishes who donated items for the Baby Shower in a Bag Project. Sixteen baby shower bags were created - 8 for boys and 8 for girls. Each bag contained towel and washcloths, baby shampoo and wash, baby wipes, onesies and sleepers in various sizes, baby socks, bibs and blankets. In addition, over 15 boxes of diapers, baby wipes, blankets, bibs, baby clothes, towels and assorted items were also donated. Thanks so much for your generosity. It's a blessing to be able to shower these moms with love for choosing Life and coming to Pregnancy Center Plus on Madison Avenue.

Advent Wreath Making After 10 am Mass

Join us for a joyful Advent Wreath Making Event on Sunday, November 23, right after the GA 10 AM Mass! Families from the Saint Gregory the Great Parish community are welcome to gather in the Guardian Angels Church Undercroft to create beautiful wreaths as we prepare our hearts for the holiness of the Advent season and the birth of Jesus. We’ll have pizza, snacks, and drinks to enjoy while we craft, and while a donation to help cover the cost of supplies is appreciated, it is not mandatory.

Please RSVP HERE with the number of wreaths you need and the number of family members joining.

Bring the whole Family to celebrate this special time of preparation together!

SGG Advent Season Holy Hour of Prayer

Praying together as a community is a wonderful way to honor Jesus during Advent this year. Join us each Monday during Advent at IHM at for a Holy Hour of prayer, with exposition and adoration of the Blessed Sacrament, Rosary and Vespers prayer. Prayer begins at 7pm on Monday December 1 and continues each Monday through December leading up to Christmas.

Cookie Ministry

Thank you for your donations to the Cookie Ministry this year. The Peanut Butter group really appreciates your support. They minister to the needy at St. Francis Seraph Soup Kitchen all year, so your donations over the summer are much needed. They put together a lunch sack on Tuesday mornings, so your donations should be dropped off on Mondays in the rectory. Your donation of cookies, brownies, rice krispie treats, etc adds a sweet treat to the lunches our peanut butter group makes for the needy of the St. Francis Seraph Soup Kitchen. Treats can be homemade or store-bought, but should be individually packaged (2 cookies per bag). They are also in need of juice boxes or pouches and prepackaged snacks like chips, pretzels, cheez-its, etc.

If you would like to help put together the lunches or drive them down to St. Francis Seraph, contact Kathy Hosking at 513-232-0958. Thank you for your help!

Sensory-Friendly Mass at St. John Fisher First Sundays of the Month

St. Gregory the Great Family of Parishes and the Archdiocese of Cincinnati Office for Persons with Disabilities offers a Sensory-Friendly Mass on the first Sunday of the month at St. John Fisher. All are welcome! A special invitation is extended to any person with autism, developmental disabilities, Alzheimer’s, dementia, or sensory issues. These Masses may include lower lighting, quiet music and/or no music, and shorter more literal homilies; however, the biggest difference is that we try to create an environment free of stigma. We encourage families and individuals to get up and move if needed, to bring alternative seating, fidgets or noise cancelling headphones, and to participate in the liturgy just as they are.

Grief Support Group

Join others on your journey from grief to healing in a nurturing, relaxed atmosphere. This support group is for any adult who has lost a loved one through death. The group meets every 1st and 3rd Thursday at 4 pm year round at Guardian Angels downstairs in Room B. If you would like to attend or have questions, simply call the GA Rectory at 513-231-7440.

Preschool Open House

Preschool Open House will be held Monday, November 11th from 5:00-7:00 p.m. This event is specifically for anyone considering enrolling their child(ren) in the preschool and/or pre-k program for the 2026-2027 school year. If you are interested in attending, please RSVP through the link below.

Upcoming Admissions Events

Guardian Angels school will offer multiple Informational Coffee Sessions with our principal, Corey Stoops. These small group sessions create the opportunity for those interested in Guardian Angels to meet our principal, have their questions answered on a personal level, and see the school in action! These are for anyone considering enrolling their child(ren) in kindergarten through eighth grade for the 2026-2027 school year. Please RSVP through the appropriate link below and share it with anyone who is interested in learning more about Guardian Angels School.

If you can't make our Information Sessions but would still like to learn more about our school, we invite you to take a personal tour. A tour allows you to meet with our administration to discuss the classes and programs available through GA and have the opportunity to ask any questions you may have. These are typically done during school hours so you can see what a typical day is like for students. Call the school office at (513) 624-3141 to schedule a tour.

School Masses

Please join our school community in celebrating the Sacrifice of the Mass throughout the school year. All-school Masses are offered most Tuesdays for Kindergarten through 8th grade and are live-streamed to the Guardian Angels YouTube channel. Visitors are welcome to attend any school Mass, although seating is limited for all-school Masses.

Please include our school community in your daily prayers!
