Parish Newsletter October 2019
Thank You!
Thank you to everyone who made the Feast Day Celebration such a wonderful experience for our Guardian Angels Family! The planning committee worked for months to create a wonderful fellowship opportunity and we are grateful so many families were here to enjoy it. You can see photos from the event on our Facebook page.
2018-2019 Financial Report Available
Each year an Annual Report is prepared documenting the financial reports from our school and parish. The report was published in the bulletin, the parish website, and is also attached .
Confirmation
Congratulations to the 59 students being Confirmed by Archbishop Schnurr on October 10th . Please keep the Confirmandi in your prayers as they prepare to receive the Holy Spirit and are welcomed into full initiation into the Church!

GA is offering an accelerated 15 week Confirmation class for those high school parishioners who have been baptized and received Holy Communion, but have not been confirmed. Classes will meet Sunday mornings from 8:30-9:45am beginning November 3rd . Confirmation candidates will complete their initiation into the Church at the Easter Vigil on Saturday, April 11, 2020. Bradley Barnes, GA’s youth minister, will be leading the classes.
Rosary Rally at GA on October 12th
All are invited to join in a Public Square Rosary Rally on Saturday, October 12 , at 12:00pm at Guardian Angels Church, next to the main Beechmont Ave entrance.

America is at an historic crossroad. Secularists are trying to push God from the public square. They reject His beneficial action upon society. But without God, where will our leaders get the wisdom to solve the great problems we face?
Please join us in offering reparation for the sins and offenses committed against the Immaculate Heart of Mary and to fervently pray for the conversion of the United States.

More information about the Public Square Rosary Rallies is available at  www.ANF.org .  A flyer for our event is attached .

Email Nick Carpinello if you have any questions.
Fall Soup and Speaker Series
Please join us for the next installment of our Fall Soup and Speaker Series on October 15th . It's a great opportunity for soup, fellowship, and a fantastic speaker. All ages are welcome. Fr. Jedidiah Tritle will explore the Old Testament and the Blessed Mother. Where do we find Mary and what does it tell us about her?
Come for dinner at 6:00pm; the presentation begins at 7:00pm.
More information is attached .
Monster Mash
Join us for the biggest and best family Halloween Party on Saturday October 26th from 6:00-9:00pm in the GA undercroft. The Monster Mash is open to all families of Guardian Angels Parish. There will be a costume contest, music, food & drinks, a photo booth and games.

Tickets are available for purchase online . They are $50 for a family of four or more - or $15 for each individual ticket. The tickets include pizza, kids drinks, the photo booth and games. All children must be accompanied by an adult.

There are three categories for the costume contest: best family costume, best boy costume, and best girl costumes. When you sign-in at the event, you will be given a number tag to identify yourself; those numbers are what will be used to cast votes. Voting will conclude by 7:30pm. Winners will be announced at 8:00pm.

The Monster Mash depends on volunteers and donations to be successful. Click here for a complete list of opportunities available to volunteer and donation items that are needed.
40 Days for Life
Over the past years Guardian Angels parish has volunteered to cover two of the 40 Days for Life event where we have someone continually praying from 7:00am to 7:00pm at Planned Parenthood’s abortion facility. Many of our working parishioners try to cover our early and late hours and those available during the day fill the hours in between.

Please consider joining us as many of our “regulars” can no longer participate mainly for health reasons. Sign up at   40daysforlife.com/cincinnati   or on the bulletin boards in the gathering space.  The next GA date is Wednesday, October 30th . Questions? Problems signing up? Contact  Luann Rowekamp .   A flyer for the campaign is attached
All Saints Day
Join us for Mass on All Saints Day (A Holy Day of Obligation).
Mass Times are 7:30am, 9:00am, and 7:00pm.
Prayer Partner Breakfast
We want to thank everyone who came out for the Prayer Partner Breakfast September 18th, ahead of the students making their Confirmation next month.
You can find more pictures from the event on our Facebook page.
Congrats to Rodney!
Congratulations to Mr. Rodney Wheeler, our Supervisor of Maintenance, who is retiring after 14+ years with Guardian Angels and a total of 45 years in the work force. We extend our very best wishes to Rodney. His strong work ethic along with his extensive knowledge of the facilities has been a blessing for Guardian Angels. Rodney will be missed.

Art Ecker is now the Supervisor of Maintenance. We are happy to have Art full time at the church and school; Jeremy Kramer is taking over as the cemetery caretaker.

Please join us in congratulating Rodney on his retirement and welcome Art and Jeremy to their new positions.
Are You A Non-Catholic Parent or Spouse In Our Parish?
Do you attend Mass with your family? Have you ever thought about becoming Catholic? Now is the time! We are setting up classes for those who are already a part of our GA community, but have not been initiated into the Church. Find out how you can participate by emailing Kay Froehlich .
Greeter Ministry Needs Volunteers
Guardian Angels Parish is looking to enhance what a welcoming community we are. Our parish will resume the MINISTRY OF GREETERS starting in November.

We are asking for some friendly faces to be at the Gathering Space doors 20 minutes before the Saturday and Sunday Masses.  You would be committing to a once a month obligation. We would like to have a minimum of 3 people greeting at each Mass. Feel free to have the whole family at the doors welcoming fellow parishioners and new ones as we join in the celebration of Mass together. A single person or a family can all serve in this ministry. (GA students may count this activity as Service to the Parish for the Christian Service Program.)

Please sign-up here if you would like to participate.
Family Rosary
GA is blessed to have Eucharistic Adoration almost every Thursday from 3:00pm to 9:00pm. We begin those hours with the Family Rosary at 3:00pm. We say 5 decades of the rosary and rotate which mysteries we pray based on the day of the week or the liturgical season. It takes about 20 minutes.

We will be praying each week for our Guardian Angels school and parish community. ALL ages welcome.
In the last apparition in October of 1917 at Fatima, Portugal - the Virgin Mary appeared as the Queen of the Most Holy Rosary and said to the 3 children, “Pray the Rosary daily.”

Please sign-up here if you would like to participate.
School News
Come Learn More About Guardian Angels School
We hold three types of events each year to introduce families to Guardian Angels School. All three offer a different insight so feel free to attend all of them, or choose the one that fits your needs.

Informational Coffee
Our Informational Coffee events provide parents an opportunity to see classes in session but also talk with other current GA parents about their experience here at Guardian Angels School. We hold one of these events in the Fall and one in the Spring. Our next coffee is scheduled for  Tuesday, November 5th at 9:00am. A flyer with more information is attached . If you'd like to attend this event,  please RSVP to Tiffany Strah .

Open House
Our Open House is scheduled for Sunday, January 26th  from 1:00-3:00pm. This is a great opportunity to meet other GA families and teachers, talk with administrators and help us kick off Catholic Schools Week.

Personal Tour
You are always welcome to call and schedule a personal tour of Guardian Angels School. You will meet with our administration to discuss the classes and programs available through GA and have the opportunity to ask any questions you may have. These are typically done during school hours so you can see what a typical day is like for students. Call the school office at (513)624-3141 to schedule a tour.
