Volunteers Needed for Beautification Committee
|
Parish Pastoral Council has listened to your input to the Q Group Report that was published in Parish newsletter and bulletin in July. In an effort to improve the worship experience at Guardian Angels, we are currently seeking volunteers for a new committee. This committee will be looking at beautification of the sanctuary as well as improvements in the actual physical plant of the church. We are looking to form the committee by the end of September. We would like this group to be comprised of individuals who have experience with beautification projects, working with contractors, project planning, and are able to commit 12-18 months to this process. If you are interested in joining this committee, please send your qualifications and a short paragraph about why you would like to be involved to
[email protected]

RCIA will begin in the fall on Thursday evenings.

Over the past years Guardian Angels parish has volunteered to cover two of the 40 Days for Life event where we have someone continually praying from 7:00am to 7:00pm at Planned Parenthood’s abortion facility. Many of our working parishioners try to cover our early and late hours and those available during the day fill the hours in between.
|
|
All are invited to join in a Public Square Rosary Rally on Saturday,
October 12
, at 12:00pm at Guardian Angels Church, next to the main Beechmont Ave entrance.
America is at a historic crossroad. Secularists are trying to push God from the public square. They reject His beneficial action upon society. But without God, where will our leaders get the wisdom to solve the great problems we face?
Please join us in offering reparation for the sins and offenses committed against the Immaculate Heart of Mary and to fervently pray for the conversion of the United States.
More information about the Public Square Rosary Rallies is available at
www.ANF.org
. A flyer for our event is

High School Youth Ministry
will kick off the official start to its year of growing together with a series called “This is My Campus.” Each year, our high school youth group partners with Catholic and other Christian youth groups around the city in this series which seeks to equip students to serve their school communities. For this first series of the year, we will have two options for high school students to participate:
- High School Youth Group is offered in the Youth Room from 7:00-8:30pm every Thursday evening. Beginning on September 5th, we will use "This is My Campus" as our discussion topic for the evening. Snacks, games, and time for fellowship is also offered.
- We will also offer a Sunday morning session from 8:30-9:45am from September 8th through October 6th in the Youth Room. The Sunday morning session will run at the same time as CCD – a great choice for students who can’t make Thursday meetings!
Students in grades 6-8 from any parish, school, or religious background are invited to join
Middle School Youth Ministry
for bi-monthly meetings. We hold “First Friday Youth Nights” from 6:30-8:30pm in the undercroft beginning September 6th, and Middle School Youth Group typically on the 3rd Sunday of each month from 6:00-9:00pm. First Fridays will focus on sharing meals, activities, and prayer before the Blessed Sacrament with lots of community building and fellowship. Third Sundays will take a more structured approach, incorporating a small teaching, time for reflection, and thematic music/activities.
If you have questions about any Guardian Angels Youth Ministry offerings for Middle School or High School, please don’t hesitate to email
Bradley Barnes. Y
ou can also visit the
Youth Ministry page
on the parish website for calendar, forms, and more information.

Come Learn More About Guardian Angels School
|
We hold three types of events each year to introduce families to Guardian Angels School. All three offer a different insight so feel free to attend all of them, or choose the one that fits your needs.
Informational Coffee
Our Informational Coffee events provide parents an opportunity to see classes in session but also talk with other current GA parents about their experience here at Guardian Angels School. We hold one of these events in the Fall and one in the Spring. Our next coffee is scheduled for
Tuesday, November 5th
at 9:00am. If you'd like to attend this event,
please RSVP to Tiffany Strah
.
Open House
As mentioned above, our Open House is scheduled for Sunday,
January 26th
from 1:00-3:00pm. This is a great opportunity to meet other GA families and teachers, talk with administrators and help us kick off Catholic Schools Week.
Personal Tour
You are always welcome to call and schedule a personal tour of Guardian Angels School. You will meet with our administration to discuss the classes and programs available through GA and have the opportunity to ask any questions you may have. These are typically done during school hours so you can see what a typical day is like for students. Call the school office at (513)624-3141 to schedule a tour.

GA School Servathon Is September 27th
|
The Labor of Love Servathon is a fundraising event in which all students ask for family and friends to sponsor their efforts of service to organizations in our community.
This day of service begins with Mass together and then the older students go off-site to complete their service projects, while the younger students perform tasks at school to benefit local agencies. This day of service has a wonderful impact on our students and on our community.
Our 2019 Servathon will take place on Friday, September 27th!
You can make an online donation to the cause

Box Tops Going Digital This Year
|
Box Tops is going digital! The Guardian Angels PTA collects Box Tops and uses the funds earned to purchase indoor recess games and outdoor recess equipment. This year, Box Tops is switching to a digital platform. To participate, you’ll need to download the Box Tops App. No more cutting labels off boxes! Instead, you’ll go into the Box Tops app and just scan your grocery receipt within 14 days of purchase. You’ll find more information
attached
.
Currently, you can still find old Box Tops labels on some products. GA students can still submit those paper Box Tops to their homeroom teachers and parishioners can drop them off in the special collection envelope located on the bulletin board in the Church Gathering Space. Those labels will be picked up on
November 1st
and then again on
March 1st
. These physical labels are being phased out though so at some point the digital option will be the only way to submit Box Tops.
