2022 GA Summer Camps Wrap up
We have finished yet another fantastic summer! GA successfully hosted six camps at 14 sites across Miami-Dade, Broward, and Palm Beach Counties.
Our youth received life skills, entrepreneurship training, healthy relationships and violence prevention sessions, and field trips! Thank you to all partners who supported our programs.
We could not have done it without you!
We look forward to continuing to provide quality youth programming in schools and community spaces this fall. Click below to see what youth programs we are offering this year.
End of Summer Festivities
GA threw epic events for our K-12 campers to celebrate the last day of camp.

On July 28th at Betty T. Ferguson Recreational Complex, middle and high school campers participated in a round of edutainment booths with loads of fun prizes and enjoyed outdoor games, music, food, and photo fun, which included a 360-degree video booth. Youth in our entrepreneurship camp participated in an entrepreneurship competition with the best business pitch receiving a stipend for
 their new business concept.

Congrats to our winners!

1st place
Doggy Diner by Nimmond, 7th grade

2nd place
Bianca's Dog Vest by Bianca, 7th grade

3rd place

On July 29th at Homestead PAL, our K-5 campers celebrated with bouncy houses, a game truck, a rock climbing wall, and, of course, cotton candy!
To all our campers, we are glad you had a blast and
can’t wait to see you next summer!

Introducing Youth Build and GO!
Gang Alternative, Inc. is proud to announce two new workforce development programs, Project GO and YouthBuild, for disadvantaged youth in urban areas in Miami-Dade County.
Project GO [Growth Opportunity] provides career development opportunities to young adults ages 18-24 who have dropped out of high school for disciplinary reasons or who have a history of violent criminal offenses or gang affiliation. This program offers a pathway for justice-involved youth that leads toward self-sufficiency through occupational and soft skills training.
Our YouthBuild (YB) program also provides career development opportunities, but it focuses on career pathways in construction for youth ages 16-24. This pre-apprenticeship program helps youth “build” their technical and soft skills through certifications in industry credentials, financial literacy, community service learning, and leadership training.
Back-to-School Back Pack Drive
GA's Back-to-School Backpack Drive was another success this year.
On July 28th and 29th, GA held events in Miami-Dade, Broward, and Homestead communities, where we gave 630 youths backpacks and school supplies.

Visit the link below to learn how you can support our efforts in positive youth development and uplifting and serving our community.
YMHFA Training
GA now offers FREE Youth Mental Health Training to groups (churches, social service providers, PTAs, fraternities, sororities, etc.).

This Youth Mental Health First Aid training includes a 4.5-hour instructor-led session with a 2-hour self-paced session that is offered in person or online.
