Darvin and his journey are a great example of why we do the work that we do. Darvin was expecting five years of probation once he left the Pompano Beach Work Release Facility.
As a RENEW Dade participant, he made significant progress, successfully obtained his Commercial Driver’s License, and completed all required assessments. With much support from our dedicated workforce development team, we are proud to say that the judge has terminated his probation after only seven months served so that he may begin to work, shipping boat parts statewide.
The judge applauded GA, stating he has never approved someone for early termination without at least half of the time completed and that he respects the work that GA has done with Darvin. With the mentoring he has received, Darvin plans to come back to GA and offer his services as a mentor to other previously incarcerated people.
Congrats, Darvin! May you continue the growth that inspires others to be the best they can be. Gang Alternative, Inc. continues to build character that lasts through the provision of "second chance" programs.
