Teen Dating Violence

Awareness Month with W3

Did you know that young black girls consistently report the highest rates of teen dating violence in the country? In observance of February's Teen Dating Violence Awareness Month, our healthy relationship programming focused on teaching youth in our community how to recognize abusive relationships and build and maintain positive relationships and self-worth.

Project We Will Wait (W3) in Broward held various activities including painting sessions where youth illustrated PSAs that show what they consider either a healthy or unhealthy relationship and a parent engagement night where parents were educated on the signs of teen dating violence. No one ever plans to be in an abusive relationship, but there are actions we can take to help us to keep away from those situations.
