Important Updates

  • Unity Church-Unitarian and its members appreciate Grand Avenue businesses and their support. They are hosting a fundraiser and silent auction on March 4, from 6:30-8 pm, and are seeking business donations of a gift card for their silent auction. Each donation will be listed in the auction catalog and acknowledged on the website, social media, and emails. Donations from neighborhood businesses are gratefully accepted here or at Unity Church-Unitarian, 732 Holly Avenue.

  • Grand Avenue Reconstruction Project - Read the latest on City plans to reconstruct Grand Avenue from Fairview Avenue to Snelling Avenue in 2024. The project includes the demolition and replacement of the pavement, sidewalks, and underground utilities along the corridor. This is the first full reconstruction of this section of Grand Avenue in many decades and presents an opportunity to refresh the historic street to better accommodate all modes of travel to and along the corridor. Learn more at the City webpage for the project here.

  • Summit Bike Lane Update - The City Parks and Recreation department is working on a draft regional trail master plan for an off-street bicycle connection via Summit Avenue Parkway. Visit the project website, Summit Ave. Regional Trail Master Plan for more information. Public comments can still be submitted here. The Summit-University District Council is hosting a Summit Avenue Regional Trail Community Forum on Monday, February 27 from 6 - 7:30 pm at the House of Hope Presbyterian Church, 797 Summit Avenue.
