Grand Old Day Reimagined - Updates on Progress for 2023

Grand Old Day 2023 plans are underway and the Reimagine Grand Old Day Task Force has come a long way in the past 45 days. The group continues to work to mesh the “old” with the “new” vision for changes based on our strategic planning.

In our November Newsletter, you'll learn more about sponsor opportunities. Our new Volunteer Coordinator, Nancy Berger will share the sign-up link with details about 2023 Grand Old Day volunteer opportunities. If you just can't wait until November and are interested in joining our Task Force, please email info@grandave.com with your preferred Committee Role(s) and a brief description of your interest and qualifications.

We look forward to bringing back this great tradition in a new and improved format that supports our members and community!

"At Abbott Paint and Carpet, it’s a family affair, as many of our employees and customers have been with us for the past two generations. Why? Because our experience makes the difference and people know we are here to help them through every project; before, during, and after. From consultation to completion, Abbott Paint and Carpet is here for you."

MEMBER SPOTLIGHT: Abbot Paint & Carpet

Abbott Paint & Carpet was founded in 1945 by Howard (Mike) Abbott Jr., father of seven children, including the four proud sons who now run the day-to-day operations: Kevin, Steve, Tim, and Dave.

This week they are celebrating Mike Abbott's 98th birthday in all stores for the week. Come in 10/17-10/23/2022 and see what they're offering to celebrate Mike!

The Abbott family loves what they do, and are motivated by helping customers. Their knowledgeable, trained personnel offers one-on-one customer support, still matching the majority of paints by hand because computers cannot achieve what they do by eye. Abbott may be the only retailer that still does custom-stain matches!

Abbott also offers a full staff of design professionals who can help bring your Pinterest vision to life. See something you like online? Bring it in and they will help you find the exact same product or a perfect match.

What do you want people to know about your business?

Abbott has from the very beginning been family owned and operated. We love our customers like family, as many of them have been with us for multiple decades.

Why did you choose to locate your business on Grand Ave?

Our original location was on Marshall Ave as it was close to both metro areas, but the founder, Mike Abbott quickly realized that Grand Ave was about to explode and moved the business to the avenue.
