Pima Association of Governments and staff from PAG member jurisdictions partnered with teams of community volunteers last October to complete the annual bicycle and pedestrian count in the greater Tucson region.
This annual count helps regional transportation planners by highlighting user patterns, trends, and issues. Examples include tracking the percentage of helmet usage and the number of female versus male cyclists and identifying high-use pedestrian corridors.
Counts were conducted at more than 60 locations across the Tucson metro area. We appreciate all the community volunteer support for helping us complete this project each year.
Check out some of the data collected during the most recent count in this brief video: https://youtu.be/a8gfgLHC-yg .
You can learn more about all the bicycle and pedestrian amenities our region offers, including more than 1,000 miles of bicycle lanes, routes, shared-use paths/trails, and bicycle boulevards.
