Last week we heard from Prof. Karl Kaiser (Harvard Kennedy School), Christoph Schemionek, President and CEO of the Delegation of German Industry and Commerce in Washington, DC and Dr. Werner Schnappauf, former Minister of State in Germany, who provided compelling and expert insights about the purpose, content and the impact of the Inflation Reduction Act. The panel discussion, which we hosted at the Goethe-Institut Boston, shed light on this vast and complex investment program and its expected and perceived impact on the American economy as well as its European trading partners, in particular in the area of clean energy and industries addressing climate change. Mid-April we hosted a wonderful Fireside Chat with Daniel Hoster, a seasoned finance expert and executive and current head of key clients at BNP Paribas Germany. His mission for the evening was to reflect on the trends & challenges in finance and the economy, but also to have a dialogue on a much more philosophical level, on what winning or losing really means.
