German International School Boston Expanding
|
|
The German International School Boston (GISB) is expanding with the opening of a dedicated Early Education Center for the 2017-2018 school year! The GISB Board recently made the decision to lease 10,500 square feet of space at 385 Western Avenue. Together with the experience of HMFH Architects, GISB will create a facility custom-designed for preschool and kindergarten children, faculty, and families. The school community is excited to be expanding to a location that is only a 5-minute walk from their current building, right across from the Charles River and Artesani Park. The new space will include seven classrooms, a playground, a large indoor multi-use play-space, and a kitchen for small chefs. At the 57 Holton Street campus, four additional classrooms and an outdoor area will open up. GISB looks forward to sharing regular updates via
www.gisbos.org
. Also, don't forget to attend the GISB Christkindlmarkt on Saturday, Dec 3 from 1:00-5:00PM!

TED Talks at German Consulate: Bridging the Gap Between Science and Entrepreneurship
The GABC Young Professionals Group organized this TED talk event hosted by the German Consulate General and moderated by YP Group founding member Anne Fassl, PhD. Stephan Holzer, PhD of MIT, Babak Movassaghi, PhD of Flex and Susanne Bächle, PhD of Olink Proteomics presented their work in 15 minutes segments followed by Q&A and feedback. Drs. Bächle and Holzer are still at the early stages of the career. Dr. Movassaghi has already crossed the bridge from science to entrepreneurship several times. This was a unique opportunity for both our young professionals to present their science, and for non-presenting members from our business community to hear about cutting edge research and offer feedback in a small setting. See the bios and research topics of our presenters HERE. Interested in presenting YOUR research? Contact us!
