Greetings from the President Claudio Riedi
A Word From The President

Come to our Events.

Miami only has two seasons: Hot summers and cool winters. And the cool winter time is events time for Miami.

As you will see in this Newsletter, the GABC is planning multiple events, all opportunities for you and your business to see and be seen. Whether it is webinars, Stammtisch events, or networking events, we as an organization want to give you multiple platforms to network, to learn, and to stand out from the crowd.

Read below how you can participate. Some of our members even take the plunge and become presenters and organizers. We want you to expose your business to as many views as possible. And for every event attendance you have, or presentation you give, we will echo your efforts in flash-backs in our newsletter. Participation pays.

So, come on out this “winter,” and show yourself. Make the most of your membership, and be involved. The details are below. We are all looking forward to seeing you.

To fellow Chamber members:

I am Gary Malfeld and I am a lawyer in Miami for 47 years. Off and on I have been a member of the GABC since at least 2008. During that time I have been engaged in the general practice of law, providing consultation in the formation and negotiation of companies and business transactions and assisting people in their personal challenges. I also have been engaged in significant ways as a civil litigation attorney and a criminal defense attorney. My approach to both civil litigation and criminal defense arises from facing the significant challenges encountered by my clients. It is a matter of telling stories. And I will tell you a story to illustrate what I mean.

Several years ago I was defending a Cuban who was not yet an American on criminal charges in court in Tavernier, Florida. The jury came to an impasse and we resumed the next morning. Early in the next morning session the jury came back with a not guilty verdict.

Several friends of my client were in attendance. They were elated. One of them told me, “it was like watching a movie!” He was so excited about the movie that I wished I could have seen it from his vantage point.

Subsequently, since then at the very beginning of a case I tell my clients, whether in civil or criminal court, “we are going to make a movie and we are going to go through it frame by frame by frame by frame.”

I firmly believe that mere technical competency (although necessary) is not what distinguishes one lawyer from the rest in the pursuit of justice. It is the ability to tell a story that grabs the imagination and compels the positive outcome. It is the story that gives the members of the jury a sense that they can see themselves as part of the story and sympathetic to the client.

Re-Connection Video:

Adrien Rappoport,TV producer and cameraman who’s been in the business for nearly 25 years, has demonstrated his skill and knowledge throughout his career.

Adrien works alone in this field, always bringing along his camera equipment to catch the perfect shot. This is one of the things that sets him apart from other cinematographers, who usually operate with a large team of individuals. Adrien is versatile and able to adapt on the fly, which allows him to get the best angles and recordings on whatever his current project is.

He’s interested in portraying the natural state of things, and as such, he tries not to shoot many takes. As an artist, he’s after raw emotion and the candid truth.

Adrien worked for major TV networks in Europe for the first 15 years of his career, then made the move to the United States and has since had his hand in producing video and cinematics for a wide range of high profile projects. As a specialist in creating deep social documentaries and recording luxury TV segments, Adrien has had the chance to work with some of the biggest names in the television industry.

For example, in one key interview with the Mayor of Miami, Mr. Suarez; he took a deeper look at the life of a retired director for the FBI, providing a glimpse into one man’s life. He’s also worked with other big names like Vin Diesel, Jamie Foxx, and Jordi Molla.
(Click here to see most of his projects: http://reconnectionvideo.com/portfolio/)

Cinematography is Adrien’s passion, and he’s let that passion shape his life and take him to unimaginable places in the pursuit of his art. As a TV producer, he loves to interview and meet new people, and he’s never afraid to interview someone new, no matter where they come from. Adrien sees all people as equal and is genuinely curious and interested in perspectives offered from all walks of life.

Recently, Adrien has branched out to begin work on corporate videos for small businesses, working to highlight their products and services for their customers in a fluid and eye-catching way. The range of industries he’s produced video for includes branding, commercial, corporate, events, journalism, and real estate.

This is one TV producer you’ll want to keep an eye on.
