Greetings from the President Claudio Riedi
A Word From The President

Open the borders to vaccinated European travelers!
The one issue that hinders resumption of full economic activity for our members is the continued prohibition on US travel by Europeans.  As many of us working with European clients can attest: the current Covid-19 travel ban for Europeans makes no sense. Zero.

The travel ban applies to travelers from the Schengen zone, but not to travelers from other countries where Covid-19 is at least as prevalent as in the Schengen-zone. Thus, if a European traveler stays in a third country for weeks, that traveler can then enter the United States with -- certain requirements and restrictions.

It seems to me that politics are at play here. For one, Americans would be just as exposed to Covid-19 from travelers entering from third countries as for travelers from the Schengen-zone. But more importantly, there is no scientific support for the notion that a vaccinated traveler from the Schengen-zone is more dangerous to Americans than their fellow Americans. Europe is no worse or no better than the USA in this world-wide pandemic.

Thus, I demand that the prohibition on travel from the Schengen-zone be lifted, with the necessary precautions, such as vaccinations and testing. Schengen travelers should be treated no worse than travelers from any other country.

If enough people raise their voices, maybe things will change.
