As the saying goes, "Man does not live by bread alone." Neither do GAC colleagues! Our popular Art Collective for members and staff has been meeting for a long time. In the past few months our visual arts programming has really picked up steam.

A newcomer to GAC is Ellie Larkey, who is doing her practicum for her Master's Program in Art Therapy at Mt. Mary University. At GAC she is working directly with members on a variety of projects.

We are initiating a new program, "Art With Ellie," which will take place during the lunch hour on both Tuesdays and Thursdays. The focus of the sessions will be the choices of GAC colleagues. They will include ceramics, water colors, acrylics, and in the spirit of the upcoming season, pumpkin carving. Ellie will be helping members to express themselves and to learn new skills, and will concentrate as much on the process of creating art as on the the product. She will utilize the relationships that are made and will help members discover their talents and abilities.

We are thrilled to be able to offer our colleagues visual art opportunities, that are available to us because of Ellie. We are also pleased to be a practicum site for Mt. Mary University's Art Therapy Program.
