Something very exciting is resuming at Grand Avenue Club. We hope that you will want to be part of it.
We are returning to the GAC tradition of Wednesday early evening art shows in our fourth floor gallery featuring the work of GAC members, staff, and community artists.
GAC has long been interested in art. In 2006 we organized our Art Gallery and a vibrant Art Collective of members and staff. A diverse group, many of us knew of our interest in art before we came to GAC; others were introduced to the idea of creating and enjoying the arts for the first time. And there are those of us who do not create art, but have cultivated a deep appreciation for the work of our colleagues and friends.
Over the years we have established a studio program at which members have explored illustration, printmaking, creative writing, pottery, mixed media, watercolors, paper sculptures, and mosaics. Our membership is now growing and we are committed to sustaining and growing our arts programming.
We have planned visual art workshops. We have organized many well-attended art and photography shows in our gallery. Our book, "Together Everyone Achieves Club House," published in 2014, is amply illustrated with original art by GAC colleagues and will be re-published in 2022 with new colleague art.
Early pandemic conditions turned us into a weekly Zoom-based arts community, which included a Virtual Art Show of our work in April, 2021.
We are thrilled to be able to invite you to an interesting in-person art show in our gallery, to honor the memory of David H. Brumder by viewing his work, and to explore the mixed media designs of Anne Fleury. and the work of other GAC artists.
Please join us and be part of the re-emergence of cultural life in downtown Milwaukee.
