My name is William Schram, I have been a member of GAC since 2007. I always give to Grand Avenue Club because it helped me when I was in a pretty bad place in my life. I like to think that my donation will help GAC be good to others in the same way. That is very important to me.
Thanks to GAC, I have been Independently Employed for the past 7 years at Milwaukee's Federal Court House. GAC got me ready for my current job by increasing my confidence via Transitional Employment jobs from 2010 through 2014.
I attend our monthly Sunday afternoon work support group, which is designed specifically for independently employed members, who would find it impossible to come to GAC during the work week. Our group is called "PIE," which stands for People Interested in Employment. I want PIE to be there for others. I want GAC's strong ties with Transitional Employment and Independent Employment employers to continue to be there for others. Supporting GAC via regular donations is a great way to make sure that happens!
I am Janet McCray, I have been a member since 2002. I donate to GAC regularly because I am so grateful for all the things that GAC has helped me accomplish, despite my illnesses.
Because of GAC, i got my confidence back. I rarely left my family's home for 10 years. Then I joined GAC and acquired the confidence to learn how to navigate through the city. I used to be so afraid of taking the bus... and now I can go anywhere. I can even go to places alone and I travel to places further away from home. I never did that before.
I am learning, for the first time in my life, how to live alone. I am grateful to all the people who have encouraged and supported me throughout the years--and that includes both my brother and all my GAC colleagues--members and staff alike.  I love donating to GAC so that others will have the same great encouragement and support that I have had over the years and that I know I will have for the rest of my life.
I'm Glen Satterlund, I have been a member since 2010. I have donated to causes I believe in throughout my life; donating to GAC is the first time I have given to a cause that has had such a HUGE IMPACT on my life. Years ago GAC got me back on my feet, helped me return to the work force at a job that I love, and is directly responsible for encouraging me to go to school where I earned a degree.
My work in the Culinary Unit is seen by others as a valued contribution, and that feels good. Being generous has helped me have a good life.
I contribute money to GAC because I want others to get from this Clubhouse what I have gotten--great friendships, encouragement, school and employment opportunities. I decided to contribute monthly so that I would be one of the many people who are guaranteeing GAC's future.
My name is Claudine Jackson, I've been a member of GAC since 2011. I know I don't have to, but as a member I feel that it's important for me to personally donate to GAC. GAC has enriched my quality of life and I know that every little bit helps.
I am Ray Bierle, I have been a member of GAC since 2009. I come to GAC because it makes me comfortable and it gives me a place to grow. I feel wanted and that's why I donate. I want GAC to grow so that others have the opportunity to be themselves and find their place in life the way that I have.

WE ARE NOT ALONE--NOT NOW, NOT EVER!
