Presidents Message
Dear members,
Greetings to all of you from my “new normal”, working from home. This continues to be a very interesting year as many of us remain socially isolated. It has been nice to stay connected to our members via our monthly Zoom calls.
As I mentioned at last year’s Annual Meeting, I will be stepping down as President of the board this year. Jim Schollett and the Governance Committee are actively pursuing a new President, who will be announced at the Annual Meeting in December.
I appreciate the opportunity to have been the President and look forward to many more opportunities to support the chamber and participate in member activities in years to come.
Best regards,
GACC 5th Annual Golf Tournament
On September 14th we had 9 teams come out for a great day on the course! The team from Lockton was our 1st place team! Thanks to all our sponsors: J& E, NextEra Analytics, Minnesota Foreign Trade Zone 119, and Crystal Lake Golf Club! Thank you to Christian Gausman/OEM, Celebrity Cruise Lines, Uteplis Brewing, Barley and Vine, Linda Michaels, and Dixon Golf for your donations to the raffle.

We hope to see you on the green next year!
ICATT Apprenticeship Updates:

Across the US, 91 apprentices started their careers and education in programs managed by the German American Chambers of Commerce as part of the 2020 cohort. We're thrilled to see that apprenticeships help support our network companies through the uncertainties of the pandemic.

The industrial website ThomasNet agrees, and recently published the article "Manufacturer Interest in Reshoring, Hiring, and Apprenticeships Increasing During COVID-19 Pandemic."

Successful companies think ahead, and apprenticeships are a great part of the long-term strategy for corporate growth and resilience.
