Six new directors elected to GACC NY board during annual meeting
Six new directors were unanimously elected to the GACC NY board at our annual meeting on August 27. In addition, nine existing directors were unanimously re-elected.

Given the historic circumstances taking place worldwide, this marks the first time the meeting was held virtually, taking place with a full quorum of participants.

GACC NY Chairman Andreas Fibig welcomed the attendees and encouraged everyone to do their best to support our chamber during these challenging times. He also commended the chamber staff for their "tremendous efforts in navigating the complicated waters we all find ourselves in" by quickly adapting services to meet the needs of our members and stakeholders.

Mr. Fibig's remarks were reinforced by GACC NY President & CEO Dietmar Rieg, who gave a brief presentation that showcased the chamber's great strides in creating virtual programs beginning in March. Our accomplishments to date include one virtual STEP delegation, 27 virtual events with more than 2,000 participants - and we've welcomed 36 new members so far.

Looking ahead, Mr. Rieg pointed to the five delegations that are slated, including an additional STEP delegation, as well as energy and offshore wind delegations. We also plan to offer more sessions as part of our well-received Industry Insights, a series of virtual panel discussions which feature many of our board members as speakers.

Additionally, the COVID crisis services and resources we created on the GACC NY website have been extremely helpful to our regional German-American community.

Stay tuned as we continue to expand and reinvent the many engaging and relevant programs and events that you have come to expect from us.

Thank you all for your continued support!
