GACC NY revises programs in response to COVID-19 crisis:
Virtual events provide valuable knowledge and insights
With the start of the COVID-19 pandemic earlier this year, our GACC NY team was challenged to turn on dime and revise existing programs/events, as well as create new ones that effectively address the needs of our members in this time of crisis.
We took a virtual leap forward, reconfiguring many of our existing in-person programs into a series of stimulating and knowledgeable webinars and online forums. The success of these programs can be contributed in great part to the participation and support of our board members, partners and other stakeholders.
These corporate leaders generously offered their expertise to assist our community in navigating the business challenges created by the COVID-19 crisis. Among the GACC NY board members who've thus far actively participated in our programs are: Andreas Fibig, Caroll H. Neubauer, Susanne von Türk, James H. Sullivan, Jan Heck and Hide Holland.

GACC organizes first virtual knowledge exchange on offshore wind deployment
Aiming to better understand and navigate a constantly evolving landscape of offshore wind farm needs, the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy (BMWi) invited US stakeholders involved in the offshore wind industry to participate in a three-day virtual transatlantic knowledge exchange.
The virtual trip, which took place this past June 8 -10, was part of a broader effort to strengthen the energy cooperation between both countries, encourage the exchange of ideas and promote energy transition policy expertise.
This first-ever virtual format was implemented as a replacement for an originally planned in-person study trip from June 8-12, 2020, with several stops in Germany, including Berlin, Cuxhaven, Helgoland and Hamburg. Of course, due to the global COVID-19 pandemic the event could not take place on site. The existing program planned in detail for the on site study tour was systematically adapted to a virtual format by the project partners RENAC and adelphi.
