US Business Delegation to Germany Experiences Industry 4.0
|

A group of 13 thought leaders, multipliers, executives and researchers from all over the US together with representatives from the GACC New York and Midwest visited the birthplace of Industry 4.0, SmartFactory KL e.V., in Kaiserslautern.
Prof. Dr. Zühlke welcomed this business delegation and shared relevant information about the German industry and potential opportunities for bilateral cooperation. The 4-day-study trip also included a visit to the headquarters of the VDE Institute in Offenbach, the Future Work Lab of the Fraunhofer IAO in Stuttgart and other relevant institutions and organizations.
The group took part in several tours, site-visits and networking gatherings and learned about the increasing digitalization of the manufacturing sector. They experienced first-hand how German industry is implementing innovative business strategies to meet the challenges of digitalization.

GACC Provides Guidance to Bavarian Food Manufacturers on Entering the US Market
|
|
Last month, the GACC New York, in cooperation with the Canadian German Chamber of Industry and Commerce, Inc., held an informational seminar for Bavarian food manufacturers interested in the North American market.
The seminar was conducted on behalf of alp Bayern and took place in the Bavarian Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Forestry in Munich. As part of the half-day event, participants were introduced to both the US and Canadian food markets and identified market opportunities. In particular, legal framework conditions in both markets were discussed.
Michaela Schobert, Director Consulting Services at the GACC South provided a presentation on the US food market. In 2017, the US food industry generated more than
$819 billion, making it one of the most powerful food industries in the world.

STEP USA Welcomes 15 German Entreprenuers to NYC
|
|
The GACC New York proudly welcomed the 20th STEP USA cohort to the Big Apple. A group of 15 promising young entrepreneurs from all over Germany joined us for the first week of December, diving into New York City's diverse startup ecosystem.
The goal of providing them with a first-class business experience in the NY startup ecosystem, US market entry specialists and potential clients worked extremely well, resulting in more than 40 meetings during that week.
STEP USA is the GACC's signature startup bootcamp, helping aspiring startups from Germany to understand their individual potential on the US market.
It was launched in December 2014, bringing over a total of 220 German startups and more than 350 participants to date.
