Dear Members and Friends,

Last month, we had the honor to welcome Dr. Helena Melnikov, the recently appointed CEO of our umbrella organization, the German Chamber of Commerce and Industry (DIHK) in Berlin, to New York. She was accompanied by a high-level delegation of DIHK and IHK representatives. The visit centered on a transatlantic dialogue offering an opportunity to exchange insights on the current state of German American business relations.

To help you stay on top of current U.S. trade policy developments, we have launched our U.S. Tariff Tracker – a live resource summarizing key tariff announcements, affected product groups, and relevant timelines.

If you have not secured your ticket yet, we invite you to attend our 10th German American Business Forum (DAWT) in Munich on July 24th, 2025.

We look very much forward to seeing you at our upcoming events!

Warm regards,

Your GACC NY Team

DIHK Delegation Visit

On June 16th, we had the pleasure of welcoming the DIHK (German Chamber of Commerce and Industry) delegation, spearheaded by its CEO Dr. Helena Melnikov, to the U.S. for a high-level roundtable discussion with our GACC New York Board of Directors, as well as colleagues from the AHK USA and the AHK Canada.

The discussion focused on the current state of transatlantic economic relations and the challenges and opportunities German companies face in the United States.

A sincere thank you to all who joined us, and to our host Deutsche Bank, especially Paul Maley, Jorn Veld, and Moritz Szelzki and to Dr. Helena Melnikov and the entire DIHK delegation for their active engagement with the transatlantic business community.

The delegation also visited Evonik’s Americas headquarters in Piscataway, NJ, where they received in-depth presentations on Evonik’s U.S. operations and toured its state-of-the art laboratories. We sincerely thank Evonik for their hospitality and for providing valuable insights into their innovation-driven contributions to the transatlantic business landscape.

As the official representative of German industry and commerce in the U.S., we remain deeply committed to fostering meaningful dialogue, strengthening business ties, and supporting trade, investment, and innovation across the Atlantic.

The German American Chamber of Commerce is committed to continuing to serve as an impartial facilitator that supports and advances the transatlantic business community – today and into the future.
