|
The U.S. Ambassador to Germany, Richard Grenell, visited the
ICATT Apprenticeship Program
and GA CATT program earlier this week from December 12-13. The purpose of the visit was to tour
through different states and to see first hand, how American based companies implement the idea of an apprenticeship benchmarked on the German model.
In Chicago, Ambassador Grenell visited two ICATT Network Companies,
WITTENSTEIN USA
and
BBS Automation Chicago
.
He toured their facilities and spoke with former and current ICATT Appren
tices. After this, his visit took him on to Atlanta, GA,
for a roundtable discussion with GACC South and a number of companies who are training apprentices. This included major German automakers as well as SMEs, showing that apprenticeships based on the German Dual Education System work for companies of all sizes.
