June 2019
The school year is finished in most regions, and our leading Apprentice Candidates are quickly finding positions. If you still have open positions for the fall 2019 cohort, contact your ICATT Team now to coordinate recruiting efforts and meet our Apprentice Candidates.

Summer also brings the start of exam season, and our current apprentices will be busy with their written and practical exams over the next few weeks – best of luck to all of them!

  • June 2019: Apprentices begin trial employment period (recommended)
  • June 30, 2019: Deadline for new companies to join ICATT for the fall 2019 cohort
  • July 2019: Apprentice offer letters signed, if not earlier
  • August 2019: ICATT signing days at colleges; semester begins
  • September 5, 2019: Graduation of second ICATT cohort

Daniel Crawford became one of the first at Krones to take part in the ICATT Apprenticeship Program .

He is currently in his second year of his apprenticeship and aspires to be a training service technician in the blow molding department, which specializes in the process of making PET plastic bottles.

Industry 4.0 - the networked and connected factory - is revolutionizing the manufacturing world. Join us as we examine how Industry 4.0 and apprenticeship programs change and enable one another.

This year, our Transatlantic Apprenticeship Initiative Workshop will take place August 21-22 at Automation Alley in Troy, MI . The delegation trip to Germany will take place October 21-25.

The May 2019 issue of Cutting Tool Engineering – a publication that helps manufacturing professionals enhance the productivity of their companies’ cutting and grinding operations – featured an interview with  Virginia Rounds , Director of the  ICATT Apprenticeship Program.

Our GACC Midwest Skills Team welcomes Darlene Bidwell as the new Account Manager for Michigan's MAT² apprenticeship program .

Prior to joining the MAT² Apprenticeship team, Darlene worked as a program manager for a non-profit in southwest Detroit where she implemented a workforce development program. She has also worked for the Society of Manufacturing Engineers, developing conferences and courses in plastics manufacturing for engineers and technicians.

GACC Midwest i s adding to our Illinois team

Company Account Manager, Apprenticeship Programs ; located in our Chicago, IL office, the account manager will be primarily responsible for advising companies on the apprenticeship programs managed by GACC Midwest, determining suitability, and increasing the number of company participants. 

GACC South is looking for two new team members: 

Consultant Skills Initiative ; located in our Houston, TX office, focusing on building new apprenticeship programs modeled after the German system, as well as identifying and involving share- and stakeholders in the Southeast.

Consultant ; located in our Atlanta, GA office, focusing on planning and executing projects, the new consultant will advise companies on their market entry and expansion strategy, conduct market research as well as identify prospective customers and projects.
