GBR's Health, Wellness Safety Council Partnered With Hackensack Meridian Health To Host GBR's Health Expo 2024 As A Free Member Benefit!

Greater Bergen REALTORS® Health, Wellness, Safety Council (HWSC) proudly hosted their inaugural Health Expo 2024 in conjunction with Hackensack Meridian Health at GBR headquarters last week, as a free exclusive member benefit to over 110 association members, thanks to exclusive sponsor, Realtor.com.

Seventy-five participants received over 487 wellness screenings, as well as AHA Family & Friends CPR certificates of participation were awarded to 37 participants. Hackensack Meridian Health provided 10 health stations for members to learn, ask questions, and gain resources for their health and wellness.

“Hackensack Meridian Health's new partnership with GBR is crucial for our REALTOR® communities and those who they serve. State Legislature Passes Real Estate Consumer Protection Enhancement Act

Breaking News from the State House:

The State Assembly and State Senate officially passed the Real Estate Consumer Protection Enhancement Act. The bill now awaits the governor's final approval.

Once signed, the bill will mandate the use of the seller's property condition disclosure statement, disclosure of representation at open houses, allow for designated agency, and mandate buyer agency agreements.

Women's Council Of REALTORS® New Jersey State 2025 New Jersey Officer Positions Available Through July 30th

Elections will be held on August 28, 2024.

Voting will be done via Zoom.

Candidates will address the members at this meeting of which the time will be announced at a later date.

Pending Home Sales Dropped 2.1% in May

NAR Forecasts 4.26 Million Existing-Home Sales, Median Price Will Increase To A Record Annual High Of $405,300 In 2024

Pending home sales in May slipped 2.1%, according to the National Association of REALTORS®. The Midwest and South posted monthly losses in transactions while the Northeast and West recorded gains. Year-over-year, all U.S. regions registered reductions.

The Pending Home Sales Index (PHSI)* – a forward-looking indicator of home sales based on contract signings – decreased to 70.8 in May. Year over year, pending transactions were down 6.6%. An index of 100 is equal to the level of contract activity in 2001.

“The market is at an interesting point with rising inventory and lower demand,” said NAR Chief Economist Lawrence Yun. “Supply and demand movements suggest easing home price appreciation in upcoming months. Inevitably, more inventory in a job-creating economy will lead to greater home buying, especially when mortgage rates descend.”

Bradford is the President of Legacy Mortgage Group.

My name is Bradford Haberlin. I am married with 2 daughters, a son, a stepdaughter, 2 grand daughters, and 1 step granddaughter. I am from Lyndhurst, and I've lived in Moonachie since I was seven years old and have played in Moonachie - Woodridge sports for my entire childhood. I went to Paramus Catholic where I played baseball and was the captain of the wrestling team. I went to West Virginia University for college and got into security operations after. I became a state corrections officer in 2007 and left in 2014.

In conclusion of my career in law enforcement, I got into the mortgage industry where I eventually progressed and started my own company Legacy Mortgage Group two years ago. I do a lot of volunteer work from dog rescue to Eva's Village to Rebuilding Together and beyond.

I am on the GBR community service committee, Government & Legislative Affairs Committee and co-chair of the Affiliate Council. I just became a newly elected Councilman in Moonachie where I intend to continue volunteering my time for the community I grew up in and love. I started coaching last year when my daughter became of age to play t-ball and will continue to do so for my children going forward.
