Last summer, the Board looked at some proposals for improving security in Glenmore. In prior years (through March 2017), we asked the Albemarle County police to occasionally patrol Glenmore streets. After discontinuing the program for 16 months, the GCA Board decided to restart the program in 2019, and we budgeted for the police patrols. In the late fall, we received some feedback that a few residents didn't think it was necessary.
In an attempt to get a general sense of the community, we asked a question in the 8 December Newsletter ... "
Do you support Albemarle County Police occasionally patrolling Glenmore? Yes/No
" Of the 331 responses, 281 said Yes, and 50 said No. With 85% of the respondents supporting the occasional patrols, the GCA Board decided to continue with Albemarle County police patrols starting in the new year.
Thanks to all for participating!
