GCA Board of Directors
Fall Leaf and Yard Debris Pick-up
Mark it on your calendars ...
... Fall yard debris collection will start on Monday, 19 November .
... Fall leaf collection will start on Monday, 26 November .

For the yard debris pickup, all branches should be placed at the curb by  7 a.m. on 19 November with the cut end toward the street. No stumps, dirt, trash, or other yard debris will be collected. Anyone living near a GCA Common Area is invited to help bring fallen branches to the curb. If your material is not picked up on day one, not to worry, it will take about a week to finish the Glenmore circuit. Remember, there will be only one pass per residence and Common Area by the GCA contractor. Please be ready!

Glenmore Security
This week, there was a note on "NextDoor Glenmore" that said cars were broken into within Glenmore. We checked with the Albemarle County Police, and no police report was filed. If there is vandalism or thefts within Glenmore, please contact the police and file a report.

A county Police Officer said "if you don't want to file a report or have it investigated, please make the call anyway and they will post it as an 'incident'. It helps them track related incidents over time."

November Gardening Tips
As the weather gets cooler, there are still opportunities to get trees and shrubs in the ground. Here are a few tips:
  • Avoid transplanting shrubs and trees on sunny or windy days. On these days, the roots are exposed to too much light or drying winds, putting undue stress on the plant.
  • Where circumstances necessitate very late planting of trees and shrubs, remember to mulch the area heavily to keep the ground thawed so roots can become established.
  • Time to winterize your irrigation system .
