Leadership Message

Kimberly Latacha, PhD, Vice Chair for Medical Education

In the pressure of daily tasks and deadlines, it is easy to overlook the simple but powerful act of showing appreciation. Yet, a little gratitude can go a long way in building stronger teams, boosting morale, and fostering a positive work environment. In this month where we celebrate love, let’s be intentional about recognizing the accomplishments of those we work with every day.

Appreciation does not have to come in grand gestures. Just a quick email and a sincere “thank you” for a job well done can make all the difference. It reinforces that contributions from the team are noticed and are valued. Acknowledge efforts publicly, offer genuine compliments and celebrate each other’s work milestones.

Gratitude is contagious. When we take the time to show appreciation, it creates a ripple effect of positivity and teamwork. It is not just about making others feel good—it’s about creating an environment where everyone feels motivated to do their best. Let’s make gratitude a part of our daily work culture this month.
