Interclub vs. Riverside Yacht Club
Our relationship and rivalry with RYC has a long history. We host our awards dinner together each fall. In addition, an engraved silver platter is awarded to the club with the highest combined score in the two GCC vs. RYC interclub events we have each season. That platter has been hanging in the skeet house for several seasons now.
GC beat RYC in the 1st interclub of the season by 16 birds. February 26th, GCC competed against RYC in a first-ever Sporting Clays Interclub event at Ten Mile River Preserve. The top 5 Shooters for GCC were - Randy Weisenburger, Merle Yoder, Matt Farley, Tom Lewis, and David Carroll. Despite a solid performance, RYC won, beating GCC by 42 birds at Ten Mile.
The platter may return to RYC, but it won't be there for long!

GCC Team Member Spotlight
What do GCC team members say about Rosie?
Everyone loves Rosie! Kind, calm, caring, and organically funny, Rosie was nominated by the entire staff to receive Employee of the Quarter. This award comes with our deepest appreciation, a gift, and enters her into the running for Employee of the Year!

Born: Haiti
Resides: Stamford, CT
Department: Culinary
How long have you worked at GCC?
One year
What does your department do to enhance and improve the member experience?
The culinary team works well and encourages each other to reach our goals. Chef has supported me from day one, always helps me perform at my best, and strongly encourages our team's growth. Like any team, we have our ups and downs (luckily, more ups than downs!), but we always find a way to have fun, make it work, and provide members with the best dining experience possible. Life is beautiful, and we must help each other wherever we can. I am proud to work with this group!
Which strengths or attributes help you do your job well and enhance the overall member experience?
I always try my best, have a strong work ethic, and pride myself on consistency. But, even when things get tough, I face challenges head-on. I hope these efforts help each meal prep, each banquet, and each outing get better and better for the membership.
What is your favorite part of working at GCC?
Exploring and learning! From creating salad dressings from scratch to learning new sustainable food prep methods, I am excited to learn something new daily.
Outside of GCC, what do you love to do?
I never stop moving! I am always doing something; I will work as an Uber or delivery service to keep myself and my mind active. I love "old school" music, "new school" music drives me crazy! I love James Brown and music that makes you happy.
