GCC SUMMER SESSION GUIDE
We are excited to open our virtual college doors to summer 2020!
Use this guide of MUST-DOs to help get you started!
ACTIVATE YOUR GCC EMAIL
All GCC communication will come through your student email. Log into your MyGCC Student Portal to activate student email.

ACTIVATE CANVAS
Active your CANVAS account before the start of classes. Online and remote classes will use CANVAS for meetings. Check you student email for a message from the instructor.

You will need your GCC Student ID to activate. CANVAS Live Help is available online!

TEXTBOOKS!
A list of your textbooks is available in your MyGCC Student Portal. You can also look up your books with the GCC Bookstore website. We recommend ordering your books online and picking up in person.

WAITLIST COURSES
If you are on the waitlist for summer classes, you DO NOT have access to the course in CANVAS. You will need to get this information from the instructor directly. If your instructor has not emailed you already, please connect with them directly.

REMOTE - ONLINE - HYBRID
Be sure to understand the difference between these courses. All Online & Hybrid courses REQUIRE a check-in assignment. If you do not complete these, you may get dropped from the course. Contact your instructor for more information
ADDITIONAL SUPPORT
VIRTUAL WELCOME CENTER & LIVE CHAT
If you have questions or need additional support your first week, including assistance with MyGCC access, email activation, adding classes, etc., the GCC Welcome Center is available online!
