Community Spotlight:
Arkansas Disability Policy Consortium
The Arkansas Disability Policy Consortium is a non-profit organization of volunteers who work to ensure the meaningful participation of individuals with disabilities and their families in determining policies that will empower them to work towards a stronger, more inclusive and economically independent way of life.
The board is made up of individuals from various organizations, self-advocates, and parents of individuals with disabilities. Every biennium (two years), the Consortium holds a policy summit where individuals with disabilities, their families, and organizations serving people with disabilities are all invited to come together to discuss and learn about policies impacting their daily lives. The ADPC is recruiting for members. You can visit their Facebook page for more information or contact vanessas@uark.edu to submit applications.
