Deacon of the Week Prayer
Mother Creator of all that Is, Goddess of Love and Light,
Give us strength and understanding to navigate through this broken world. Repel the dark past that seeks to reassert itself into the present. Give us the courage to confront ignorance and hate. One Love. Amen.

So even if you're not able to get all the way through, please feel free to join us. And while we want this to be a community led discussion, if anyone feels called to help facilitate or has a topic or chapter you really want to make sure we discuss, feel free to reach out to Malachi or Rachel.

Getting the Information You Need
At times when it can be hard to find the news and information you need, this Social Justice e-newsletter is intended to be a trusted resource. There are certainly other sources that can be helpful to you and others, and this list of news sources is often where I look to get the articles, videos, events, and other items that are shared in each edition.
By using the link above, you can access many news sources organized by the social justice issues they represent. However, there are a few specific media that I want to highlight here.
-
For those seeking to get the latest information about what is happening statewide, NC Newsline provides good coverage of general politics. The NC Budget and Tax Center, offers the latest on economic developments in the state.
-
For those concerned about health issues, NC Health News offers regular news on both the state and national level.
-
For those wanting to get information for the Latinx community, Enlace Latino NC offers that information both in Spanish and English.
-
And for those seeking information with a local perspective, NC Local, Asheville Watchdog, Mountain Xpress, and Urban News are important ones to check out.
One other important resource for this Social Justice e-newsletter are the readers. Thanks to many of you who share informational items, events and activities that address one or more social justice issues. Please feel free to email me with any item you feel is appropriate.
Thanks for all you continue to do to maintain our democracy, support social justice, and make positive change! If there are people wishing to subscribe to this e-newsletter, they only need to complete this form and click the subscribe button.
