Sunday, November 5 is All Saints' Sunday.

GCPC Members who passed away since All Saints' last year will be remembered during our necrology read during Communion. Loved ones are invited to light a candle when the names are read. This year we also invite anyone who has lost a loved one to be held by the community on this day of remembering as well. You can send a picture (with your loved one’s name, birthdate and date of death) to micah@gcpsusa.org. And this year we are also offering everyone who is remembering a loved one this year to bring a small container of “sacred soil” from a place that is holy ground for you (that could be anywhere from home to a favorite place to hike) and add it to our wheelbarrow from the GCPC Community Garden. During worship you will be invited to add your soil and share the name allowed of someone you are remembering.

This Week at GCPC!

Boundaries 2.0 | Sundays | 11:30 AM - 12:30 PM | Fellowship Hall and Zoom

*High School Youth are invited to join this class too! This class is returning to the topic of boundaries, covered in two other previous classes at GCPC in the last few years. Boundaries 2.0 will be in conversation with the book Set Boundaries, Find Peace:A Guide for Reclaiming Yourself and explore the premise that setting boundaries helps us realize our sources of support and realize our potential and personal freedom. We hope our discussions can inform how we can create loving boundaries that empower us in our own lives while creating healthier, happier relationships. You are welcome to participate if you read the book, are reading it or will read it one day. We invite all who desire to be in the community to join us.

Class facilitators are Dean Presson, Patty Thompson, Marta Alcalá, Libby Kyles, Margaret Tierney, and Paul Rogers.

Help make Youth Group a Success!

The congregation is being asked to help provide a meal for Sunday evening youth group. Please consider signing up for a week to bring a meal. Food can be made at home or ordered in, whatever works best for you! Some ideas are: burritos, sandwich bar, pasta bar, breakfast for dinner, etc...

We are asking you to: 1. Bring food for 15 people; 2. Deliver and set up by 5:30pm on Sunday evening; 3. Eat with the youth and assist with clean up at 6pm. This would be a huge help so that staff can focus on the programming and parents can focus on getting their kiddos to youth group!

Centering Prayer | Wednesdays | 6:00 - 6:30 PM | Sanctuary

Pray with me and other GCPC faith filled congregants on Wednesdays at 6pm in the sanctuary. In a world of constant busyness and messaging, Wednesdays for me have become a place to rest and feel my deeper self and God.

It is a simple ritual. Light the God Candle and say blessings in your silence. We turn to our inward self and repeat a phrase such as Peace of Christ. If your mind wonders, it is okay. Just return to your phrase. Be gentle with yourself. After 20-30 minutes the candle is blown out and we show or say the Peace of Christ to each other. Rest in the peace as you leave.

If you can not be at GCPC, light a candle and be present to God.

ACS Dual Language Program Initiative

There's a new initiative to get a Spanish/English dual-language program started in Asheville City Schools.

Because of Grace Covenants continued commitment to community initiatives that expand the reach of educational opportunities to all children we have been asked to share this information with you. Please take a moment to get informed and if you choose to support this initiative.

Please use the link below to show support, then spread the word!

Superintendent Fehrman says this is absolutely possible if we can show that ACS families think this is a good idea.
