Subject: The Arson at Beth Israel Synagogue in Jackson, Mississippi

From: Members of the ReMA Gulf Coast Region Executive Committee

Dear ReMA Gulf Coast Region members and friends,

The strength of the recycled materials industry has always been rooted in its people. We often speak of our association as a family—a network of professionals who look out for one another, support each other through challenges, and celebrate our shared commitment to our communities. Today, that sense of family calls us to stand together in the face of a disturbing act of violence.

Many of you have seen the news regarding the recent arson attack at Beth Israel Synagogue in Jackson, Mississippi. This incident hits particularly close to home for our leadership team. Zach Shemper, our Gulf Coast Region Second Vice President, serves as president of Beth Israel.

On behalf of the ReMA Gulf Coast Region, I want to extend our deepest sympathies and unwavering support to Zach, his family, and the entire Beth Israel congregation. We are a resilient industry, and we know that the Jackson community is equally resilient.

In the coming weeks, let us continue to check in on one another and remember that the bonds of our ReMA family extend far beyond recycling operations or the office. We stand for safety, respect, and solidarity.

Sincerely,

Alton Schaubhut

President, ReMA Gulf Coast Region
